Cool Results for Cambridge Security Solutions Company

Cambridgeshire based Bridgeway Security Solutions recently welcomed members of the Business Energy Efficiency (BEE) programme to mark their efforts to reduce energy use.

The information security partner, which enables business transformation with mobility, cloud security and security intelligence solutions, operate from sustainable offices which have already had a substantial amount of energy efficiency work with respect to lighting and heating.

However, they contacted BEE to identifying further improvement opportunities and following a site visit from a BEE advisor, it was recommended that they replace their existing air conditioning cooling units with more appropriately sized smaller capacity units. The company swiftly applied for a grant to enable them to take the recommendations forward and just six weeks after their initial enquiry Bridgeway were in receipt of a grant offer for £2,645.

The new air conditioning units will reduce overall energy consumption and running costs, saving an estimated £1,800 per annum and delivering a carbon saving of 5 tonnes each year.

Commenting on receiving the grant, Managing Director Jason Holloway, said, “Thanks to the grant received from BEE, we’ve been able to install new air conditioning units. This has led to energy efficient improvements along with significant cost savings to our business.”

Since the Business Energy Efficiency (BEE) programme launched in Spring 2017, the programme has supported over 200 SMEs, identifying cost savings of over £1.2million and potential carbon reductions of over 6,000 tonnes.

Using funding secured from the European Regional Development Fund, BEE offers a free audit service to help small and medium sized enterprises identify energy saving opportunities. Businesses who look to invest in capital projects to improve energy efficiency can access a grant scheme offering up to £20,000 in financial support.

Grant funding is available for a number of measures including; LED Lighting; Heating & Cooling; Insulation; Solar PV & Battery Storage; and Electric Vehicles.

The project is being delivered by the environmental charity PECT, in partnership with Nwes.
