Energy Efficient CS Ellis Receives a Grant for over £6,000

Rutland-based logistics business CS Ellis Group welcomed members of the Business Energy Efficiency (BEE) programme to mark their recent efforts to reduce energy use.

The South Luffenham based firm were keen to understand how they might be able to improve energy efficiency at their site and requested the support of one of BEE’s energy advisors.

Following a site visit, CS Ellis submitted a grant application to BEE towards the costs of installing LED lighting in two of their warehouses and were successful in securing a £6,139 contribution towards project costs.

The new LED lights are far more energy efficient, and will deliver estimated savings of £5,400 each year, as well as reducing their carbon footprint by 32 tonnes per annum (the equivalent of 264 flights to Paris).

Commenting on receiving the grant, James Munton, IT Manager at CS Ellis said, “We found the grant application process remarkably easy, with the BEE team on hand throughout the whole process offering advice and support.”

Since the Business Energy Efficiency (BEE) programme launched in Spring 2017, the programme has supported over 170 SMEs, identifying cost savings of almost £900,000 and potential carbon reductions of over 4,300t.

Using funding secured from the European Regional Development Fund, BEE offers a free audit service to help small and medium sized enterprises identify energy saving opportunities. Businesses who look to invest in capital projects to improve energy efficiency can access a grant scheme offering up to £20,000 in financial support.

Grant funding is available for a number of measures including; LED Lighting; Heating & Cooling; Insulation; Solar PV & Battery Storage; and Electric Vehicles.

The project is being delivered by the environmental charity PECT, in partnership with Nwes.
