Future-proof your business against energy price hikes!

Energy price rises are nothing new, but 2017 is becoming known as a year of massive hikes – with most big suppliers announcing standard tariff increases of up to 15% in the last few months.

If you’re a small to medium-sized business then these increases can have a big impact on your finances. One way to future-proof your organisation is to take steps now to improve your energy efficiency and therefore cut costs.

Not sure where to start? Don’t worry, there’s FREE support available to businesses in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area from new project Business Energy Efficiency (BEE)!

Since the programme’s launch in spring this year, BEE has already supported 48 SMEs to help cut their carbon and identified over £270,000 of cost savings for them – an average of nearly £6,000 per company. The subsequent carbon savings identified total 1,200t which is the equivalent of 357 flights from London to Sydney.

Using funding secured from the European Regional Development Fund, BEE offers a FREE service to help organisations identify energy saving opportunities. Businesses can also invest in capital projects for energy efficiency measures, with grants available up to a maximum of £20,000.

The BEE project is being delivered by Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT), in partnership with Groundwork and Nwes.

“Our project has been launched with the aim of helping SMEs across the region to become more energy efficient and save money.” explains Project Manager Antony Gough. “BEE’s grant funding pot is limited and only available for a fixed period of time, so I would encourage businesses to get in touch sooner rather than later so they don’t miss out!”
